Candidates interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships can check the details and may apply as soon as possible.

1. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position supported in part by a grant from the Department of Energy entitled “Quasi-Trefftz methods for problems governed by vector-valued Partial Differential equation”.
Qualifications: candidates must have a PhD with expertise in numerical analysis, and ideally in Discontinuous Galerkin methods. Expertise in high-performance computing is not required, but would be useful.
In collaboration with Prof. Imbert-Gerard, research topics will focus on the development and implementation of advanced methods, more specifically the so-called quasi-Trefftz methods, for problems governed by variable-coefficients Maxwell’s equations in the frequency domain.

7. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Arizona, seeks a highly motivated individual to work on nanoscale thermal imaging of an operating electronic device. The successful candidate will participate in research in the Nano-Electronics and Advanced Materials (NEAM) Research Lab directed by Dr. Qing Hao.

The position is full-time and on-site at the University of Arizona in Tucson. We are looking for a candidate who will fabricate the nano-sensors used for the thermal scanning based on an atomic force microscope (AFM). The candidate will lead the nanofabrication of sensor-integrated AFM probes and hold effective communications with our collaborator (Prof. Liping Wang’s group at Arizona State University) for AFM operations. The developed thermal scanning capability can lead to unprecedented information on the nanoscale temperature distribution within an electronic device, which is critical to the thermal management of such devices.
