AARI Winter Internship May 2024 on "Biofertilizers" for Loyola College - UG Students

Winter Internship 2024 Annakkili Amma Research Institute (AARI), conducted 11 days winter internship program for Loyola College, UG Plant Biology and Biotechnology final year students.  The Internship program was covering Vermitechnology, Nitrogen fixing Bacterial isolation, compost preparation, Seaweed Liquid Fertilizers and other topics related to Biofertilizer. The 11 days program started on 18th December 2024 and till 30th  December 2024 for first batch and for second batch it started on 2nd January, 2025. A New species of red alga has been named after our Senior Scientist Prof. B. B. Chaugule | Kumanoa chaugulei new species of red algae from Kerala

 Dear researchers and Students,     This article introduces Kumanoa chaugulei Jayalakshmi & John, 2021... Kumanoa chaugulei  Jayalakshmi & John from Kerala (Phycologia)     Kumanoa chaugulei is a newly described freshwater red algae from Kerala, India. This article is published in Phycologia Journal (17th, June 2021). The alga was collected from Idamalayar, a major tributary of Periyar River, Kerala, India, and described based on morphology and molecular phylogeny.  This is the first study from India on Batrachospermacea e with Molecular phylogeny data. In the introduction, the authors have discussed Freshwater red algae and Batrachospermales members and on previous reports. In materials and methods the collection site with GPS, morphology, and molecular data methods. A New species Dasya sylviae C.W.Schneid., M.M.Cassidy & G.W.Saunders (Delesseriaceae, Ceramiales) from Bermuda in 2021 | Recent new species description

This short review article provides you information regarding the recent research article published in the European Journal of Taxonomy  (Volume: 751, Pages: 24–37).   A rticle published by Schneider and his team to describe the Dasya sylviae C.W.Schneid., M.M.Cassidy & G.W.Saunders in details.   Dasya sylviae C.W.Schneid., M.M.Cassidy & G.W.Saunders (source: European Journal of Taxonomy)             The alga is actually part of the material collected from the coast of Bermuda by the 2016 Nekton XL Catlin cruise of the R / V Baseline Explorer.
