AARI is the first Algal Biotechnology Training and Research Institute in Chennai. AARI is equipped with a state-of-the-art bio-analytical lab. The prime focus of the institute is to develop an industrial-ready workforce as well as algal biotechnological entrepreneurs. Moreover, AARI is bridging between academia and biotechnology industries. We do research on Microbial and Molecular Biology. Our team members are being part of many industries as consultants.
This short review article provides you information regarding the recent research article published in the European Journal of Taxonomy (Volume: 751, Pages: 24–37). Article published by Schneider and his team to describe the Dasya sylviae C.W.Schneid., M.M.Cassidy & G.W.Saunders in details.
The alga is actually part of the material collected from the coast of Bermuda by the 2016 Nekton XL Catlin cruise of the R / V Baseline Explorer. The research team already published some new species and some other articles without describing the species, which is given in the introduction part.
In the introduction part, the authors have clearly
mentioned the research background of the current article. Then they have
discussed the genus Dasya distribution, characters, and some species
characters also. They also mentioned the distribution of various Dasya
sp. in the Bermuda region.
The article has elaborated
materials and method section in which all the details regarding collection,
observation, photography, and molecular analysis details are briefly discussed
by authors… table 1 is having all the Gene bank data and the sample information
of Dasya species used in the study.
The result part of the article has phylogenetic
analysis, Taxonomic treatment, species Diagnosis characters, Etymology of the species
name, Type specimen details, Description, and Distribution.
The species is named
after Dr. Sylvia A. Earle, pioneering phycologist, scientist and open-water
diver.
In the discussion part
authors have clearly compared with already reported Dasya species and
also, they compared molecular data. This article has a Phylogenetic tree, Morphology
of the new species, and comparison of new species with other available species, and also article is provided with colorful photos and photomicrographs of the described new species.
