Ph.D. position in algal biotechnology PhD position - 3 years (m/f/d) Algal biotechnology Leipzig University, Faculty of Life Sciences, Institute of Biology, Plant Physiology group of Prof. Severin Sasso, Leipzig, Germany Start: 1 July 2024 Deadline: 7 May 2024 The Plant Physiology group at the Institute of Biology, Leipzig University, offers a Ph.D. position (Promotionsstelle) starting from 1 July 2024, subject to formal funding approval. Activities and responsibilities The unicellular alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii secretes substantial amounts of glycolate under photorespiratory conditions (Taubert et al., Plant Biotechnol. J. 17, 1538-1546 (2019)). As glycolate is an important industrial chemical, its production in a photosynthetic microorganism opens up the long-term potential to establish a biotechnological industry based on renewable resources. The aim of a new third-party-funded project is to improve glycolate secretion. For this purpose, we want to use physical mutagenesis (e.

19 Postdoctoral Fellowships at National Institutes of Health, Maryland Are you holding PhD degree and looking for Postdoctoral Fellowships? University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada invites multiple online application for Postdoctoral Fellowships in various research areas. Candidates interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. 1. Postdoctoral Position  Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship: The research general objectives are to screen USDA, ARS sweet potato germplasm for accumulation of arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), and lead (Pb) to identify germplasm and genetic markers that can be used in public breeding programs for development of varieties that have low levels of toxic heavy metals to ensure a safe source of food for human consumption. This project addresses a gap in knowledge in the accumulation potential of heavy metals in sweet potato. At the completion of these studies, the expectation is that we will have provided knowledge regardin

Two Postdoctoral Researchers in Plant Metabolism and Immunity: We are one of the largest and oldest universities in Europe and one of the most important employers in our region. Our broad range of subjects, the dynamic development of our main research areas and our central location in Cologne make us attractive for students and researchers from around the world. We offer a wide range of career opportunities in science, technology, and administration. 2 Postdoctoral Researchers (f/m/x) in Plant Metabolism and Immunity The new research initiative ‘Immunometabolism in Health and Disease’, financed by the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, is a highly interdisciplinary project in which molecular, cellular and biochemical data from plant and animal systems will be produced to advance the understanding of cellular metabolic programmes underpinning immune responses. This is expected to lead to the first integrated map of immunometabolism in plants and animals, including rational targe
