Ph.D. position in algal biotechnology PhD position - 3 years (m/f/d) Algal biotechnology Leipzig University, Faculty of Life Sciences, Institute of Biology, Plant Physiology group of Prof. Severin Sasso, Leipzig, Germany Start: 1 July 2024 Deadline: 7 May 2024 The Plant Physiology group at the Institute of Biology, Leipzig University, offers a Ph.D. position (Promotionsstelle) starting from 1 July 2024, subject to formal funding approval. Activities and responsibilities The unicellular alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii secretes substantial amounts of glycolate under photorespiratory conditions (Taubert et al., Plant Biotechnol. J. 17, 1538-1546 (2019)). As glycolate is an important industrial chemical, its production in a photosynthetic microorganism opens up the long-term potential to establish a biotechnological industry based on renewable resources. The aim of a new third-party-funded project is to improve glycolate secretion. For this purpose, we want to use physical mutagenesis (e.

11 Postdoctoral Fellowships at Vanderbilt University, Tennessee Are you holding PhD degree and looking for Postdoctoral Fellowships? Vanderbilt University, Tennessee invites multiple online application for Postdoctoral Fellowships in various research areas. Candidates interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. 1. Postdoctoral Position  Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship: We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow (start July 2024) in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Bock-Pozzi-Zent Kidney Cell Biology Laboratory. We are generally interested in understanding how the actin cytoskeleton enables the complex morphologies of kidney tubular epithelial cells. Research projects include determining the role of actin cytoskeletal regulation in kidney tubular development (https://rupress.org/jcb/article/220/11/e202103080/212704/) or regeneration (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adi7840). To address these questions, we
