Winter Internship 2024 Annakkili Amma Research Institute (AARI), conducted 11 days winter internship program for Loyola College, UG Plant Biology and Biotechnology final year students.  The Internship program was covering Vermitechnology, Nitrogen fixing Bacterial isolation, compost preparation, Seaweed Liquid Fertilizers and other topics related to Biofertilizer. The 11 days program started on 18th December 2024 and till 30th  December 2024 for first batch and for second batch it started on 2nd January, 2025. Description

The Galaxy Formation Group in the Physics Program of the Division of Science at the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Research Scientist in Fall 2023. The Galaxy Formation Group (GFG) currently has three post-doctoral associates and three PhD students. The successful candidate is expected to conduct independent research based on theoretical and/or numerical work in the field of galaxy formation and evolution in a cosmological context under the supervision of Professor Andrea V. Macciò.


The GFG is part of the Center for Astro, Particle and Planetary Science (CAP3) a newly established center at NYUAD dedicated to research in astronomy, astrophysics, planetary and astroparticle physics. The Galaxy Formation Group has close collaborations with the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg (Germany) and the Purple Mountain Observatory in Nanjing (China). The center counts more than 30 researchers between staff, post-docs and PhD students. The successful candidate will have direct access to a group dedicated 3,000 core machine, a 40,000 core Infiniband Cluster (Jubail) dedicated to the science division and to other supercomputer facilities in Europe and USA.  NYUAD is an institutional member of SDSS-IV and MaNGA. Applicants with familiarity with extensive public data archives (e.g. Gaia DR3, Gaia-ESO Survey, etc.) are encouraged to apply.  


Applicants should have a PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or a closely related field, and at least 8 years of post-doctoral experience.


The preferred starting date is Fall of 2023, but earlier or later dates are also possible. The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with a likely extension to a total of three years. This position will be based at New York University in Abu Dhabi, and the candidate must be ready to relocate to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. NYUAD offers a stimulating work environment, and provides funds for computing, publications, travel, etc.


The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
