Essential qualification: Guest Faculty: Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree in M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology/ Medical Biotechnology/ / Medical Bio Chemistry/ Medical Physiology/ MLT from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. 

Remuneration: Rs 1000/- per lecture to a maximum of Rs 40,000/- per month as per UGC guidelines for Community Colleges.

 For Visiting Lecturer/Guest Faculty, sufficient knowledge of the trade, sector, training / teaching skills along with relevant industry experience of minimum 2-3 years is desirable. The age shall be as per Government rules. 

Experience in dealing with students and public with a knowledge of various languages such as English, Khasi, Jaintia, and Hindi will be desirable. 

Remuneration will be as per the Skilled/Clerical Category, Government of India The interview will be scheduled on the 5h August 2022 (Friday), 11:00 am onwards in the Director Office of College Development Council (CDC), NEHU, Shillong. 

The initial period of contractual engagement will be as per academic calendar to be renewed on yearly basis. Candidates appearing for the interview shall bring original documents, degree marksheets testimonials, reprints, experience certificate etc. for verification at the time of interview.

Important Dates

Ph.D. Entrance Test is one of the eligibility criteria for admission into Ph.D. programmes offered by Osmania University in different subjects in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Informatics, Law, Oriental Languages, Social Sciences, Science, and Technology. 

A list of subjects in which the Ph.D. Entrance Test - 2022 will be conducted is given in Annexure-I. 

1. Eligibility Conditions: To be eligible to appear for Ph.D. Entrance Test - 2022 being conducted by Osmania University in the subjects pertaining to faculties mentioned above, a candidate must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree from a recognized university or a Post-Graduate degree through distance mode from a recognized university and approved by the concerned authority, in the concerned subject or in an allied subject (see Annexure-II for the list of allied subjects) approved by Osmania University securing not less than 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates). If the results of Post Graduate Degree are declared in the form of Grades/Credits/Cumulative Grade Points/Average in their marks card/Transcripts, such Grades/Points shall be converted into percentage of marks to assess the minimum eligibility criteria. 

The candidates have to appear in the Ph.D. Entrance Test in the subject in which they wish to pursue Ph.D. (For e.g. A candidate with M.Com. qualification may pursue Ph.D. in Business Management provided he/she appears and qualifies in the Ph.D. Entrance Test in the subject of Business Management). 

However, the following categories of the candidates are exempted from appearing in the Ph.D. Entrance test. 

1. Those who are awarded Junior Research Fellowship in a national level test namely UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR / ICAR / DBT/ INSPIRE fellowships 

2. However, if any of the above category candidates wishes to get admission in Category II, then he/she needs to get through the O.U. Ph.D. Entrance Test – 2022. 

Note: 

i. The eligibility of the candidates is not being verified at the time of application and or at the time of issuing of hall tickets. Therefore, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that he/she is eligible for the Ph.D. programme in a subject in which he/she is applying. 
ii. The candidates those who are pursuing Post Graduate degree and whose results are not declared are NOT ELIGIBLE. 

2. Test Pattern & the Medium of the Test: 

 The Entrance examination is conducted through computer based test (CBT) mode for 70 marks as multiple choice questions (MCQ). 
 The Entrance Test will consist of any 3 or 4 varieties of objective type items such as analogies, classification, matching, comprehension of a research study / experiment / theoretical point of view, etc., with multiple answers besides the usual multiple choice items. The MCQs will be framed only from the syllabus of Entrance test. 

 Medium of Entrance test: The medium of Entrance Test will be in English only, except for language subjects. 

3. Registration Fee: The Registration fee for online submission of application form is Rs.1500/- (Rs.1000/- in case of SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates). The procedure for payment of Registration fee is available in the website: www.ouadmissions.com 

4. Syllabus for Entrance Test: The syllabus in various subjects for Ph.D. Entrance Test will be made available in O.U. websites, https://www.osmania.ac.in/ and www.ouadmissions.com 

Candidates may download the syllabus of the concerned subject from the above websites. 

5. Minimum Qualification Marks: The minimum marks for qualifying the Ph.D. Entrance Test shall be 50% (35 Marks) in case of Open category candidates and 45% (32 Marks) in case of SC/ST/BC/PWD category candidates. 

6. The Ph.D. Entrance Test is valid only for one time admission process concerned to the Ph.D. Admission Notification - 2022. 

7. The Hall Tickets along with entrance schedules and necessary instructions will be made available in OU websites: https://www.osmania.ac.in and www.ouadmissions.com 

The candidates have to download the Hall Tickets and affix the latest passport size photograph (which is exactly similar to the one uploaded in the Online Application) in the space provided and get it attested by a Gazetted Officer / Principal of a college/ Head of the Department. Without the Hall Ticket, the candidate is not allowed to appear for entrance test. 

8. The admission to Ph.D. course is subject to the concerned Rules and Regulations of Osmania University that are in force from time to time. Qualifying in the Ph.D. Entrance Test alone does not guarantee admission to Ph.D. programme. The admission is subject to availability of vacancies with the research supervisors in the concerned department, the candidate’s academic record, the performance of the candidate in the Ph.D. admission interview and the State Govt. reservation policy. For further details regarding the Ph.D. admissions in Osmania University and other Rules and Regulations, the candidates are advised to visit the OU Website, https://www.osmania.ac.in 

9. The University invites applications separately for admission to Ph.D. Programmes through it’s website and press notification after the declaration of the Ph. D. Entrance Test results.

About the position: Science Communication Intern: Building science communication deliverables around the topic of aging and muscle growth. 

Role Description: 

Primary Responsibilities and expectations: 
 The primary responsibility is the end to end organisation of a podcast on ageing and muscle growth including 
 Thematic collating, understanding, summarising of research pertinent to the podcast. Interests in fitness, nutrition and wellbeing is preferred 
 Coordinating with guest speakers and arranging for each session 
 Setting up the recording session with the provided equipment 
 Recording, editing and uploading the podcast 
 Promoting the podcast through blogs/social media and maintaining those channels 
 Will also have to account for 2-3 in person events to promote the podcast around Bangalore. 

Secondary Responsibilities: 
 Being a member of the host lab community, they will be sitting with the lab and will be expected to attend talks and lab meetings to understand the topic of aging and muscle growth. 
 Contribute to podcast communication plans beyond only execution in terms of content, promotion and creative ideas/collaborations to promote the podcast and awareness of the topic in general. 
 We envision building a community around the topic of aging and muscle growth. The science communication intern will be expected to find and network with people of interest in academia, industry and beyond to build a community and audience around the topic. 

Expectations: 
 We expect the candidate to be driven and motivated in pursuing the execution of the podcast. 
 While a plan of action and resources will be provided, the intern will be expected to drive the project and keep the timeline on track. 
 What should you bring to the team? 
 We are looking for someone with the following kinds of experience and qualifications: 
 Bachelor's degree or above in a biological sciences subject 
 Excellent written communication skills as they will be communicating and coordinating with scientists and experts from a diversity of backgrounds. 
 Proficiency in designing posters using Canva, Photoshop, InDesign or any other image designing software 
 Must be ready to learn the technical aspects of recording and editing a podcast. 
 At least 6 months of experience in science communication and/or public engagement with science along with spoken communication skills (Readiness to talk and interact with people, host events etc) 
 Proven experience in writing science articles for expert and non-expert audiences (minimum 3-4 articles) 
 Interest in gaining new experiences 
 Ability to work in a team setting, and independently
