Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Botany from University of Calcutta (Year of passing- 2009)

Topic: Studies on lipid profile of some genera under Bryophyta of Eastern Himalaya.
Areas of research:
Analysis of lipid classes, fatty acids including fatty acid derived metabolites of oxylipin pathway and
their biological significance.
Chemical investigation on rare acetylenic fatty acids in mosses and to decipher their biosynthetic
pathway and biological significance.
Metabolomic studies of ethno-medicinally important mosses including extraction of volatiles by recent
techniques such as sample enrichment probe (SEP), solid phase microextraction (SPME) and their
analysis using different chromatographic techniques such as GC-MS, HP-TLC.

Teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate courses (Botany) for the last 5 years and 6 months at UG &
PG Department of Botany, Darjeeling Government College.
Supervising M.Sc, and Ph.D. students for their postgraduate and doctoral research.
